Atlantic Ocean Road - Trondheim

Our travels from Atlantic Ocean Road - Trondheim

After packing and cleaning the Airbnb, the first thing we do is drive over the Atlantic Ocean Road again. This time the weather is different - it is foggy and cloudy, but sometimes the sun shines through the cloud cover. We drive through quite well until we reach Trondheim.

We take a car ferry from Kanestraum to Halsa to cross the fjord, saving us more than an hour's drive. Today we have lunch in the car and arrive in Trondheim around 2 pm, where we return our car from Avis at a petrol station. We can simply throw the key into a key box and the rental car is returned. Then we have to carry our luggage again by ourselves to our P-Hotel Brattøra near the train station. After checking in, we immediately head out to explore Trondheim a bit more. We enjoy the view of the many colourful houses reflected in the water near the harbour. After a visit to the outdoor shop "Skandinavisk Høyfjellsutstyr" where Annina buys a warm yellow jacket, we go to a few more shops. Then we visit the famous stone church "Nidarosdomen", which was built in the 11th century and has just been renovated. The church is very impressive, as its sheer size is breathtaking. In addition, the entire church is built of stone, which fits perfectly in this far north. We have really nice weather once again and enjoy the sun's rays while strolling through Trondheim. This time we have dinner at "Lan Na", a Thai restaurant, which serves exceptionally tasty and beautifully prepared food. We have spring rolls as a starter and for the main course Annina has the classic Tom Kha soup with rice and Nicolas takes the Pad Med Ma Muang, a wok dish with cashew nuts. Sated and satisfied, we walk to our hotel room and are glad when we get there, because in the meantime it has started to rain in Trondheim. We watch a few episodes of Stranger Things before going to sleep.
