Bunes Beach
Our travels from Bunes Beach
Today we check out of the mini-villa in Sakrisøy, therefore we have a rather speedy breakfast before packing all our luggage and stowing it in the car. Althoug we are in a hurry, we once again have to take pictures of the view from our mini-villa. It is as the sun is shining more intense on purpose as if the place did not want us to leave.

But we have something great planned for today, because it is finally supposed to be sunny all day! We want to go to Bunes Beach. This is a remote beach on the north coast of Lofoten and can only be reached by ferry. The ferry only leaves twice a day for Vindstad, the starting point for this hike. We park at the free Reine Viewpoint short term parking, because the parking prices in the centre of Reine are exorbitant. We barely catch our ferry, a small boat that is already quite full. At the second "stop" we reach Vindstad after a rather short cruise.

Upon arrival, a few small houses await us, most of them in the typical Scandinavian red colour. There are no roads or cars here, just a few paths, beaches and pure nature. We follow the indications towards Bunes Beach. Via a path, which is very easy by Norwegian standards, we climb a pass from where the beach is already visible. It is very long and wide. There are a few people camping on the beach, but otherwise it is deserted. So we make our way down to the beach. First Nicolas goes for a swim in the ice-cold sea, then he sunbathes on the beach while Annina also dips her feet in the water. Afterwards we walk barefoot along the empty beach - what a great feeling! The sun disappears and we get cold again, so we slip back into our hiking clothes and head back towards the pass, where we enjoy our wraps for lunch with the most beautiful view of the long beach and the sea.

On the way back, we walk past a huge beach full of shells. Annina is delighted by these numerous gems and hardly wants to leave this beach. But we have to, because there is only one ferry today and we must catch it.

After arriving in Reine, we are still considering hiking up the Reinebringen again, as the weather is very nice and sunny today, but after this morning's hike we don't really fancy it anymore, so we decide to just go and take pictures in Sakrisøy and Hamnøy.

Afterwards we check into the Lofoten Sjøhusutleie in Kåkeren, where we already stayed last year and Annina is very excited about it. The accommodation is totally modern and perfectly equipped and has a beautiful view over a fjord and the mountains. We go grocery shopping and at the bridge to Fredvang, Nicolas flies out of our car with the drone to chase our car, which is driven by Annina. We cross beautiful bridges here with a view of the imposing mountain which we want to capture.

When we arrive at our cottage, we first have an apero before we start cooking - today we have a potato gratin!
