Hamar - Ålvund

By replacement bus and train we make our way to Trondheim, spotting two moose beside the tracks on the way. In Trondheim we pick up the rental car and drive through to Ålvund, where a cabin right on the fjord awaits us. Dinner comes with a stunning sunset by the sea.

Early in the morning we set off again from our Airbnb in Hamar towards Hamar bus station. The train is not running and we have to take a replacement bus from Hamar to Lillehammer. It goes smoothly and the bus is even very luxurious and the seats are ultra-comfortable.

In Lillehammer we take the train that will take us to Trondheim. On our way, we can reserve a seat for the 10-hour train ride from Trondheim to Bodø at the end of the week. We have a very comfortable seat in the Premium Class, which is not very crowded. As we look out of the window, we discover by chance two moose, a mother and her child, walking next to the train. Unfortunately, there is not enough time for a good photo, but Nicolas still manages a coincidence shot showing the young moose.

We arrive in Trondheim and walk to the Avis car rental, which hands us our rental car. A Honda Jazz Hybrid - not exactly the most stylish car, but it has an automatic with distance cruise control and hybrid. We don’t need much more for this short time. We take turns driving and drive through to Ålvund, where our accommodation is for the night. We sleep at a campsite, but in a cabin right by the fjord. The sunset right by the sea, to which we have our dinner, is stunning.
