Doune Castle - Stirling Castle - Basel
The Scotland trip ends on a royal note: Doune Castle, famous from Game of Thrones and Monty Python, and the imposing Stirling Castle with its panoramic view. We invest our last 14.43 pounds at the airport in snacks and a Scottish newspaper before the plane takes us back to Basel.
Today is our last day in Scotland and we spend it visiting some of the country’s famous castles. Our day starts with an excellent homemade hot British breakfast prepared by our Airbnb host.
We then make our way to Doune Castle, famous from Game of Thrones and Monty Python. It is exciting being able to flash back to some of the movie scenes that were filmed there. After visiting Doune Castle we continue to Stirling Castle. This castle is very large and impressive. We enjoy the historical sights and the panoramic view.

After our visit to Stirling Castle we have to make our way back to the airport. We return our rental car without any problems and then spend some more time at the airport. We still have 14.43 pounds left and decide to spend the money on some food & water and a Scottish newspaper.
Our flight goes absolutely smoothly and we arrive in Basel in the evening. It is a great end to our Scotland trip and we are grateful for the beautiful weather we had and all the wonderful experiences we have gathered during our stay. We will keep Scotland in good memory and hope to return again soon.
