Stockholm
Stockholm at full speed: breakfast on Drottninggatan, a stroll through the old town of Gamla Stan, catching the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace by chance, and pastries at the Espresso House. We spend the evening with Yannis on Djurgården, dumplings in the park, voucher chaos on Wolt, and a boat ride that really is included in the public transport ticket.
Today we sleep in again and then take the train to Stockholm Central, where we buy our breakfast. We then head towards Drottninggatan, the big shopping street, where we first enjoy our breakfast. Then we browse through various shops and Annina buys a few souvenirs. We walk on towards Gamla Stan, the old town, where we eat our Indian food from last night. When we walk to the Royal Palace it is two o’clock in the afternoon and by chance we see the changing of the guard. Later, we visit a few more shops and cross the Skeppsholmsbron bridge, where we see the Gilded Crown.
As it starts to rain a little, we go to an Espresso House and afterwards meet Yannis, who has had university until then. We go to the island of Djurgården, where the open air museum Skansen is located. There we order food (after yesterday’s experience no longer via Uber Eats, but via Wolt, which works much more reliably and has better customer service). We get dumplings and Mexican nachos and Quesadillas and enjoy our dinner in the park with a view of the sea. We get a voucher for another food order right after the Wolt order, so we order some fries and other unhealthy food. We only realise after ordering that this voucher is valid only for one specific shop, the Wolt Shop… This means that we pay the full price, but receive another voucher that can be cumulated with the one we have already received and that we later actually redeem in the Wolt Shop, meaning that we now have our food for the whole of tomorrow’s trip for free. The way back to Yannis’s flat we take a boat (yes, that is included in the public transport ticket) and a train. At home we pack up our luggage and go to sleep.
