The day starts very early for us, we get up at a quarter to 6 to catch the beautiful sunrise on the Danube. We find a spot directly opposite the Parliament and set up our cameras to start a few long exposures. The Parliament is beautifully reflected in the still Danube in the red of dawn.
Back at the hotel we go for a leisurely breakfast. The buffet is very generous and everything is very tasty. In the afternoon we walk to Margaret Island, the largest and best-known island in the city, which lies in the middle of the Danube. On the way we take a few photos of the Parliament to make a time-lapse afterwards. We are glad to find a bit of shade on the wooded island, as the heat is barely bearable. We walk right across the island to the Japanese garden, where we order bowls via Wolt to eat. Sweaty and a little tired, we go back to the hotel and get ready for our planned free walking tour. Already on the way, just as we are passing the cosy garden of our hotel, we spontaneously decide to postpone the free walking tour to tomorrow and rather have a cool drink in the garden. The heat is easier to bear with iced coffee and lemonade. We plan our next trip and edit photos from the last few days. In the evening we have planned a romantic boat trip on the Danube. While the ship takes us from one end of the city to the other and back again, we enjoy a cool glass of champagne and the pleasant breeze. In the dark the city, with its countless lights and illuminated palaces and other buildings, looks even more fascinating.
After the boat trip we order Indian food to our hotel, where we eat comfortably and watch a series.
