The journey home to Switzerland

At 6 am we shovel the car free, then the ferry carries us straight into the sunrise. Via Bodø, Oslo and Zurich we head home, including the obligatory extra screening of Nicolas' camera backpack, until the Nordic winter dream ends with a Vito pizza in Basel.

We start early today, by 6 am we’re shovelling the car free, as it snowed again overnight. The drive to the ferry port goes well despite snow-covered roads, and the ferry departs punctually at 07:00. By then we’ve already claimed comfortable window seats and are looking forward to the crossing, because we’re sailing straight into the sunrise! In Bodø we return the rental car and check in our luggage. Security is very sparsely populated, we’re the only ones being screened, and of course Nicolas’s backpack gets its usual separate inspection thanks to all the cameras.

After the customary de-icing station, the flight is very calm and we arrive safely in Oslo. We buy lunch there and board the next flight, this time to Zurich. That flight is very smooth too, and we land in Zurich at 19:00. From there the train takes us to Basel, where we treat ourselves to a Vito pizza for dinner.
