Sandtorg - Nøss

After breakfast at the hotel we drive via Evenes airport further north towards Andøya. It rains almost all day, but at one stop Nicolas flies the drone over reddish brown moorland. We charge twice on the way, once at a Tesla Supercharger, and finally move into a photographer's Airbnb in Nøss.

At 07:30 we have breakfast at the hotel in Sandtorg. Of course it doesn’t come close to the breakfast buffet at the Scandic Havet in Bodø, but it is still very tasty and filling.

Then we pack the car. First we make a detour via Evenes airport, also known as Harstad/Narvik. From there we drive on north towards Andøya, the northernmost island of the Vesterålen.

The weather is very rainy today. Even so, we stop at a few spots along the way, and Nicolas sends up the drone. From above you can see how autumnal it already is here. The moorland is reddish brown, with countless small pools in between, a stream winds through yellow trees, and behind it pointed grey mountains stand under the low clouds. On the coast a flat headland stretches out into the water. Over the fjord the rain clouds hang so low that the mountains on the other side disappear in the haze.

Because it is so rainy, we then drive fairly directly. We only stop to charge. Nicolas rented our fully electric Ford Explorer in Bodø because it has the longest range of the electric cars on offer, about 500 kilometres. Near Ramberg our Airbnb had its own charging point. Today we charge at two different public charging stations. One of them is a Tesla Supercharger, so now we also know how to use one.

Finally we arrive at our Airbnb in Nøss. It is very modern, but furnished in an artistic way. The owner is a photographer and also shows his pictures at exhibitions.

After two long days of driving in a row, we enjoy the quiet around the little cabin and the view of the sea and the nature. Then we do a bit of work on the laptop. For dinner Annina cooks rice and potatoes with Indian sauce, as she once did near Ramberg, when we had rice with three Indian sauces.
