Stockholm

This morning we can enjoy our hotel’s big and lovely breakfast buffet before we get ready for the Covid test. We have to have our passport, the reservation number for the test and our connection to the test centre ready. We take the Tunnelbana, travelling underground as far as the Quality Hotel Friends, because that is where we booked the PCR Covid test. It is very straightforward and done with a throat swab. We wouldn’t even have to wear a mask inside the test centre, typical Sweden. Right afterwards we continue by train from Solna to Stockholm, where we visit various shops and malls. For lunch we get takeaway, to enjoy our food afterwards in a beautiful city park in even more beautiful weather. Nicolas has picked up a Mexican bowl and Annina has cleaned out the Coop salad bar. After that we enjoy our last hours in Stockholm and stroll through the streets. We also stop by Gamla Stan once more and chill on a bench there. Now, a month and a half later, there are already many more tourists and it has become much hotter, the sun is literally blazing from the sky. Later we walk to the Stadhuset of Stockholm, where we enjoy the magnificent view of the sea and chill in the park. From there we order food from Uber Eats. Since we order from three different restaurants, three different Indian Uber Eats drivers come to deliver our food. With a view of lots of weddings and our good food, we let our last evening in Stockholm wind down.

When we come back to the hotel by metro late in the evening, we toast with a glass of rosé in the bar (this time real rosé) and play some of the bar games on offer. There is of course a table football (Döggelichäschte) and a special wooden curling lane on which the pucks glide over sand. The evening was fun and a lovely end to our Sweden trip.
