Today the weather is a little better than in the last few days. We want to drive to Nusfjord. It is a small fishing village that lies a bit more remote on the Lofoten. On the way we make several stops to take photos, as the mood with the fog and the mountains feels very mystical.
Having arrived at Nusfjord, we set off to explore the traditional little fishing village. There is a harbour and many of the classic red fishing cabins that are common here, so-called rorbuer. There is also a tiny but very sweetly decorated bakery, where of course we go to get something too. We pick out cinnamon specialities from up here and enjoy them with a view of the many rorbuer.
Then we go on a short hike that starts at the car park in Nusfjord. We pass two lakes and see some beautiful waterfalls and even a little snow.
Back at the car, two French women approach us and ask whether we can give them a lift for a stretch, because one of them has hurt herself and so they can no longer drive. And as luck would have it, it turns out that the two of them are staying at the same accommodation as us. We drop them off and drive on to Sakrisøy to photograph the striking yellow house in front of the mountain once more. As the weather is better now, the mountain is easier to see. Afterwards we drive on to Reine to take some photos here again too, without having to flee from the rain straight away. In the evening we first enjoy a wonderful sunset with a view of the many mountains before we tuck into tomato spaghetti.
