Today we ride our scooter to Bukit Merese, a grassy hill on the coast near Kuta Lombok. It is a viewpoint with amazing views of empty beaches, and a few monkeys are enjoying the place too. The sky is clear and it is 27 degrees.
Several long-tailed macaques are out on the slope. One walks along the edge, others sit and lie together, and below them the sea shimmers turquoise. From above we also look into a bay with a light sandy beach, a small boat lies in the turquoise water, and green hills rise behind it. Further down, between dark rocks, lies a small bay with a narrow light strip of sand.
Later we visit Kuta Lombok, a seaside resort on the south coast, before heading to our villa for lunch. Five bruschetta lie in a star shape on a light plate, topped with chopped tomatoes, a basil leaf in the middle. The round woven placemat is trimmed with shells along the edge.
Afterwards we have a massage before our private cooking class begins. We cook Nasi Goreng, fried rice, which is one of the five national dishes of Indonesia. We already had it on our plate two days earlier, back then with the fried egg that looked like Rösti. We quite enjoy the class, especially eating the Nasi Goreng afterwards.
